Нанкинский Пейзаж
The Nankin Landscape (2006)

The Nankin Landscape is a tale of ambivalence and destructive duplicity - a ballad of the loneliness of a person who somewhere along the way has betrayed his love. Alexander has returned to Russia after spending time in the exotic east of early 1900s China. He forms a tenuous acquaintance with a man just released from prison for crimes against the state. Strangely both men find themselves in pursuit of the same woman, the delicate and sensitive, Nadia. They each use their contrasting powers of storytelling to win her heart, and soon all three are mixed up in a tantalising mix of half truths and fantasy, that threaten any hope of happiness for all three intertwined players.
