This wartime drama tells the story of a young Soviet woman, Lyudmila, who joins the ranks of the Red Army in 1941 to fight the Nazi invasion. Lyudmila quickly adapts to her war setting and begins to build a reputation as one of the Soviet’s deadliest snipers. But when tragedy befalls Lyudmila she is pulled out of combat to begin working in the diplomatic delegation to the USA where she develops an unlikely friendship. This true story gives an insight into real war heroes and the bravery shown by civilians who volunteered for the cause, as well as the bravery of Soviet women. This Russian-Ukrainian co-production reflects upon the strong unity between long-time allies.
