It’s New Year’s Eve and the employees of an Economics Institute are ready to celebrate. They plan a night filled with singing, dancing and games. However, newly appointed director, Comrade Ogurtsov wants to replace all the ’fun‘ with serious, traditional rituals.  It’s time for everybody to team up and save the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Carnival Night was Eldar Ryazanov’s first big-screen film and Lyudmila Gurchenko’s first major role.  In 1956 this film became a box-office hit with more than 48 million tickets sold.
