A few days before Finland went out of the Second World War in September 1944. Finnish sniper-kamikaze, Veikko managed to set himself free and Ivan, a captain of the Soviet Army, arrested by the Secret Police has a narrow escape. These soldiers of two opposing armies meet and are given shelter by Anni, a Lapp woman. To her, they are not enemies, just men. This is a beautiful portrait of human relations under intolerable conditions.
