  • Russian Box Office Hit (2012)

This enormously controversial film divides its point of view into two different perspectives making for some entertaining storytelling that will please both action and drama fans alike. Focusing on the lives of an estranged mother, her former husband and their young son during the war in the Caucuses in August of 2008, it follows the mother’s journey to find her son and save him from the war that rages in Ossetia. Whilst the mother journeys toward her son, we see the young boy deal with the terrors of war though his wild, heroic imagination. He conjures up large robots to protect him and the viewer sees the war through his eyes. Based on true events, August Eighth is an exciting cinematic adventure - a film-spectacular that is pure entertainment.
